The North Carolina General Statutes authorized counties to adopt ordinances to regulate various activities. Ordinances adopted by the McDowell County Board of Commissioners are grouped below by category.
It should be noted that these ordinances typically regulate activities in the unincorporated areas of the county (outside the City of Marion and the Town of Old Fort) unless the municipalities have requested enforcement within their boundaries.
